GoldRiver Receives 8th Pinnacle Award from Safe Food Alliance
GoldRiver Orchards has received its 8th consecutive Pinnacle Award from the Safe Food Alliance (a division of DFA of California), signifying that the company’s food safety program is among the very best among tree nut processors in California.
As members of DFA, GoldRiver Orchards is subject to three unannounced food safety audits per year. These audits include reviews of the company’s food safety procedures, documentation, training, sanitation practices, and prevention. Audits are scored on a 2000 point scale. Audits receiving scores of 1800 or higher are considered “Excellent”. During the most recent 2016-17 crop year, GoldRiver’s scores all exceeded 1900—considered “Exceptional”—and thus qualifying the company for the prestigious Pinnacle Award.
A copy of the award certificate is posted on GoldRiver’s website under the Food Safety tab, and a new Pinnacle Award plaque will soon be displayed in the company’s main office building.
