Josh Barton

VP Orchard Operations

Josh Barton joined the Barton Ranch in December 2008 and now serves as Vice President of Orchard Operations for GoldRiver’s sister company and largest grower. Josh graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in ag business and a minor in crop science. Just 21 years old at the time he joined the business, Josh was immediately placed in charge of the management of a large ranch in Farmington, California, located generally in what is known as the “Linden region” for the cultivation of top quality walnuts. Under his leadership, that ranch grows many acres of walnuts and olives for oil.

In 2021, Josh was promoted to his present position and placed in charge of all Barton farming operations that include the production of walnuts, almonds, and high density olives. His passions are to work closely with others who enjoy farming, train future leaders, and determine best strategies to maximize yields and quality given climate and soil conditions.

Josh and his wife, Kendall, are college sweethearts and have been married since 2011. They have two sons, Casen and Carter, both of whom love to spend time on the ranch. Of particular note, Josh plays on a beer league softball team, which has a record of 1 one win and 32 losses over the past three years.
